THE TBM DUBAI EDIT / CULTURE
One Flag.
Seven Emirates.
One Shared Spirit.
On UAE Flag Day, Dubai joins a nation in honouring the symbol of its unity, heritage and belonging.
DUBAI · 3 NOVEMBER 2026
Hello Beauties,
Some moments are bigger than the city in which we experience them.
Today, 3 November, the United Arab Emirates comes together under one flag — a powerful reminder of the values that connect all seven emirates.
From Dubai to Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, UAE Flag Day celebrates national unity, belonging and pride.
01 / THE OCCASION
A National Moment
of Unity
Across the UAE, the national flag is raised at government institutions, schools, businesses and homes to mark a day dedicated to the spirit of the Union.
The occasion is shared by Emiratis and the many people from around the world who have made the Emirates their home.
In Dubai, a city defined by ambition and innovation, it is a moment to honour the values on which the nation was built.
One nation.
Seven emirates.
A shared future.
02 / THE HERITAGE
Why 3 November
Matters
UAE Flag Day was introduced in 2013 following an initiative by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The date commemorates the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan becoming President of the UAE in 2004.
The flag itself recalls the founding of the federation on 2 December 1971, when the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan raised it at Union House in Dubai.
More than five decades later, it remains an enduring emblem of sovereignty, unity and shared purpose.
03 / THE SYMBOLISM
Four Colours.
One Identity.
The four colours of the UAE flag represent values and aspirations that have helped shape the nation.
04 / THE TBM PERSPECTIVE
From Dubai,
With Respect
Dubai is international in almost every sense — in its people, its culture, its ideas and the many languages spoken throughout the city.
Yet it is also unmistakably part of a wider Emirati story, shaped by heritage, leadership and the strength of the Union.
For those of us who live and work here, UAE Flag Day is an invitation to appreciate that story, honour the country’s traditions and recognise the shared responsibility of contributing positively to the place we call home.
We are proud to call Dubai home — and grateful to be part of a country that continues to inspire us every day.
Happy UAE Flag Day!
