WHAT’S ON OUR RADAR RIGHT NOW
Alaïa’s East-West bag, Gucci’s polished city slide and three design objects proving the best weekly edits never stay in one category.
Hello Beauties,
This week’s edit is about objects with a point of view. Two belong in the wardrobe, three belong at home, and none of them needs much styling around it. From Alaïa’s elongated Le Teckel to a Fornasetti vase that behaves almost like architecture, these are the pieces currently earning our attention.
Alaïa’s Le Teckel Is Still The East-West Bag To Beat
Long, low and instantly recognisable without relying on a monogram.
The East-West bag has moved from micro-trend to modern wardrobe shape, but Alaïa’s Le Teckel still feels like the reference point. The elongated body, tubular handles and restrained branding give it enough identity to make even a very simple look feel intentional.
In red, the silhouette becomes even stronger. We would use it exactly as the colour accent: black tailoring, white shirting, denim or a minimal dress, then stop.

The TBM Take: the shape is the statement. That is why it works better with less around it.
DISCOVER ALAÏA AT FARFETCH →Gucci’s Double-G Slide Is The Polished Flat We Want Now
A square toe, black nappa leather and one piece of gold hardware do all the work.
There is a useful difference between a casual slide and a flat sandal that can carry an outfit. Gucci’s version sits firmly in the second camp: clean black nappa leather, a squared-off toe and Double G hardware used as the single focal point.
For Dubai, that is exactly the appeal. It is easy enough for daytime but polished enough to stay on for lunch, meetings or dinner without making the rest of the look feel underdressed.
Current FARFETCH UAE listing checked: AED 2,773
How we’d wear it: with a long skirt or fluid trousers rather than treating it as a beach shoe.

The best interior pieces do more than fill a surface. This one brings an entire façade into the room.
Fornasetti has always understood that useful objects can carry an illusion or an entire visual world. The Architecture vase turns a simple cylinder into a miniature neoclassical façade, rendered in the house’s unmistakable black-and-white language.
We would not over-style it. One branch, one flower or nothing at all is enough. Against stone, lacquer or dark timber, the architectural print already gives the room its punctuation.
Current FARFETCH UAE listing checked: about AED 1,455
Why it made the edit: interiors become more memorable when one object is allowed to have a personality.

Porpora pink, floral detail and a gold finish turn a vase into something closer to jewellery for the room.
The Oriente Italiano pattern is decorative in the best possible way: unapologetically floral, deeply coloured and finished with just enough gold to make the porcelain feel almost precious.
We like the Porpora version because it does not disappear into a neutral room. It is the object that gives the console, dining table or shelf a focal point rather than another layer of beige.
Current FARFETCH UAE listing checked: around AED 3,193–3,251
The TBM Take: treat it like jewellery for the room. One is enough.

Hand-applied metal, sculpted ribbon and one message we could probably all use at dinner.
L’Objet’s collaboration with artist Ruan Hoffmann is exactly the kind of design humour we like: beautifully made first, funny second. The plate combines earthenware with 24-karat gold and platinum, while the hand-applied ribbon introduces an almost surreal three-dimensional detail.
The words “Wifi Off” could easily have tipped into novelty. Instead, the craftsmanship keeps it on the right side of collectible.
Why we’re buying it: because the best conversation pieces do not need to shout.
