THE TBM WEEKLY EDIT
WHAT’S ON OUR RADAR RIGHT NOW
A backstage moment in Dubai, Ferragamo’s new Cara Bag, the ERDEM trench shifting our autumn mood and one sculptural interior piece worth knowing now.
Hello Beauties,
September always changes the rhythm in Dubai. The fashion calendar starts moving again, new-season collections begin to feel relevant and even our interiors shift away from summer minimalism towards pieces with a little more depth. This week, we are not trying to cover everything. These are simply the four things that genuinely stayed on our radar.
01 — THE ACCESS MOMENT
Backstage At Dubai Fashion Week
TBM backstage at Dubai Fashion Week.
There is a particular energy backstage that never quite translates through a finished runway photograph. It is the place where the polished final image temporarily disappears: fittings are being adjusted, teams are moving in every direction and the collection is still only minutes away from meeting its audience.
For TBM, those moments matter. We want to show more than the final look walking down the runway; we want to capture the access around fashion — the conversations, preparation and people behind an industry that continues to expand in Dubai.
The next Dubai Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027 season is officially scheduled for 22–26 October, putting the city firmly back on the international fashion calendar. The complete designer line-up is still to come, and that is exactly what we will be watching next.
ON OUR RADAR The interesting story is no longer simply that Dubai has a fashion week. It is who chooses to show here, which regional designers break through and how the city continues to define its own position in the international fashion conversation.
02 — THE NEW BAG
Ferragamo Cara Makes Its Case
Some new bags arrive determined to tell us immediately that they are important. Ferragamo’s Cara takes a quieter route.
The new architectural silhouette is defined by a slim profile, precise leather construction and the house’s Gancini closure. There is enough Ferragamo identity to recognise it, but not so much that the hardware overwhelms the design.
That restraint is what caught our attention. Cara feels polished without becoming overly formal and distinctive without relying on an oversized logo.
THE TBM TAKE We would wear Cara with wide-leg tailoring, a white shirt, an uncomplicated dress or an oversized blazer. The bag already has enough structure — everything around it can stay quiet.
The closer you look, the more Cara becomes about construction rather than decoration — exactly the kind of luxury detail we prefer.
03 — THE AUTUMN UNIFORM
ERDEM Makes The Trench Interesting Again
ERDEM floral-print coated trench coat.
Autumn dressing in Dubai has its own logic. Heavy layering rarely makes sense, so one strong outer layer often does more work than an entire seasonal wardrobe.
This ERDEM trench is exactly that kind of piece. The navy-blue floral print gives the classic silhouette a darker romanticism, while its high-shine coated finish changes the mood completely. The oversized proportions, lapel collar and tie belt keep the shape recognisably trench, but the surface treatment makes it feel far less predictable.
For Dubai, we like the idea of treating it less as practical rainwear and more as the entire look: something thrown over black trousers, a minimal dress or even eveningwear when the temperature finally begins to drop.
HOW WE’D WEAR IT Keep the rest of the palette disciplined. Black, navy, cream — and very little else. The floral surface is already the conversation.
04 — THE HOME SHIFT
The Interior Piece Changing The Mood
A seasonal interiors update does not have to mean redesigning an entire room. Often one unexpected object is enough to shift the atmosphere.
This dark-blue metallic side table from POLSPOTTEN does exactly that. Its cylinder-and-curve construction turns a functional piece of furniture into something closer to a small sculpture, while the reflective metallic surface gives the blue considerably more depth.
We particularly like it against softer materials: boucle, linen, velvet or a cream sofa. The contrast is what keeps it from becoming too decorative.
HOME NOTE Do not over-style it. One book, a low object or nothing at all. This is one of those pieces that looks more expensive when it has space around it.
